Alice E. Wardach, 91, of South Abington Twp, passed on Thursday, July 15 at home with her family at her side. Thanks to the loving care of her daughter Carol with whom she resided and her youngest granddaughters whom she referred to as her “angels” Lessa and Victoria she passed peacefully as she wished at home. She was the widow of Charles J. Wardach who passed in 2004. Born in Scranton, she is the daughter of the late John and Anna Andrejko. Alice was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School, and had been employed by Square Tool and Die Corp. and Prudential as an office manager and book keeper. Alice was a member of St. John’s Byzantine Catholic Church, Scranton, their St. Elizabeth Guild, and enjoyed singing in the choir in her younger years. Alice is survived by her daughter, Carol Wardach, three sons; David Wardach and wife Lauren, Charles Wardach Jr. and wife Deborah, Paul Wardach and wife, Lynne, 10 grandchildren, four great grandchildren, sister, Marge Standarski, brother, William Andrake many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, parents and 11 siblings. A Funeral Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 21, in St. John’s Byzantine Catholic Church, Broadway Street, Scranton at 10:30 am. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery, Minooka. Viewing for family and friends will be on Tuesday, 4 to 7 pm with Parastas at 6:30 pm. Panakhyda Services will be held on Wednesday at 9:15 am in the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 262 Railroad Avenue, West Scranton.
