Catherine (Deininger) Korgeski, 89, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2023. Born and raised in Taylor, she was the beloved daughter of the late William and Anna (Nykaza) Deininger; and the loving wife of John “Jack” Korgeski who preceded her in death in 2018. Her daughter, Ann Korgeski, passed away at age 44 in 2015.

Catherine graduated Salutatorian in 1951 from Taylor High School. She was quite skilled in math and put those abilities to good use in her working career ranging from payroll specialist at the former Victoria Silk Mill, to Burlington Mills where she enjoyed increased responsibilities in bookkeeping and accounting. In 1963, Catherine left her career at Anemostat to raise her three children whom she instilled a strong work ethic and independence.

She took a lot of pride in the home that she and her husband Jack built. In her later years, Catherine spent countless hours working in her yard and loved spending time with her family, cooking, enjoying long walks with her favorite Labrador, Bear, laughing, polka dancing and sharing wonderful stories of her life growing up. Catherine was part of the “greatest generation” and was a wonderful Mother and Grandmother who will be sadly missed by all who loved her.

Surviving are a daughter, Catherine Peetros and husband Nick, Lehigh Valley; son John W. Korgeski and wife Kim, Pittston; granddaughters Kaitlin Korgeski and her fiancé John, and Ashley Korgeski.
