Dorothy V. Edwartoski, 91, of South Scranton, died Friday night at the Jewish Home of Eastern PA. Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Aloysius and Theophilia Lopatka Edwartoski. Dorothy was a lifelong member of Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Church, now St. Paul of the Cross Parish, was a graduate of Sacred Hearts Elementary School and Scranton Technical High School. Before retirement, she was a forelady for Family Garment in South Scranton. Dorothy was a very active volunteer for the church annual picnic and was on the Scranton Technical High School class reunion committee. She is survived by one sister, Antoinette Malinowski, Scranton, nieces and nephews to include Ronald Jackson, with whom she resided and was her caregiver as well. She was predeceased by four brothers, John “Jay”, Aloysius “Jim”, Joseph and Bernard Edwartoski, five sisters; Verna Switala, Eleanor Jackson, Elizabeth Prezkop, Marie Edwartoski and Catherine Edwartoski. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 am in Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Church, 1217 Prospect Avenue, South Scranton, by the Rev. Scott P. Sterowski, St. Paul of the Cross Parish, Pastor. Interment will follow in Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Cemetery, Davis Street, Scranton.
