Emery F. Nagy

Emery F. Nagy, 94, formerly of Bryn Mawr Street, West Scranton, died Monday, August 11, at the Mountain View Care Center. His wife, the former Catherine Cegelka Nagy, died in 1982. Born in Dunmore, he was the son of the late Ignatz and Helen Chontos Nagy. Educated in Throop schools, he was an Army Air Corps veteran of WW II, serving as a radio mechanic in the European, Asiatic and Pacific Theatre’s. He was a member of the Kosciuszko American Legion Post 207 and SS Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Church, Scranton. He is survived by one daughter, Ann Marie Kozloski and husband Stanley, Illinois, three grandchildren, Mark, California, Michael, Mississippi, Rebecca Lojewski, Illinois, 5 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by siblings, Joseph and Julius Nagy, and Ann Golembeski. Private Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, August 20, in the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home, 262 Railroad Avenue, West Scranton, by Father Sam J. Ferretti. Interment with Military Honors will follow in St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Moscow. There are no public calling hours.
