On Sunday, May 11th, 2025 Harry Karl Cook, had somewhere to be. In true romantic fashion, Harry spent his 62nd wedding anniversary with his wife, the late Arline (Frounfelker) Cook together in paradise.

Harry Cook, 85 was born to William and Margaret (Jeffreys) Cook on March 21st, 1940. A 1958 graduate of West Scranton High School, he made a love match that would last a lifetime. The couple was married on May 11, 1963 and spent many happy years together. Together Harry and Arline raised 3 children, Pamela, Scott and Tod.

In life, Harry was a lifelong member of Jackson Street Baptist Church. He served in the PA National Guard from 1963-1969. He served as a Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 4 of West Scranton, where he watched his sons and many other young men attain the rank of Eagle Scout.  Harry was trained as a beautician and worked for several years in his own shop. He was also employed by Gress Farms and most recently as a carpenter for Contempri Homes, where he retired in 2005.  Harry was also Past Chancellor Commander of the Knights of Pythias.

Harry and his wife were avid campers, spending most of their weekends at the Camp at East Lake in New Milford, Pa where they were charter members. During his retirement Harry enjoyed woodworking and tinkering in the garage to the fullest. From his brain sprung many useful Harry Cook inventions. Most recently – a rolling board for perfectly uniform Welsh cookies, a Cook Family favorite.

Harry was preceded in death by his loving wife Arline and younger brother William who passed in childhood.

Harry leaves behind one daughter, Pam Gavin (Dennis) of Scranton; two sons, Scott Cook (Lisa) of Olyphant and Tod Cook (Suellen) of Lehighton; and six grandchildren, Joshua and Vienna Cook of Old Forge, Meaghan Gavin of Dickson City, Matthew and Kalia Cook of Hawaii, Daniel Gavin of Scranton, Susan Cook and Jordan Cook of Lehighton.  Also, leaving behind a brother-in-law Arthur Frounfelker and his wife Mary of Moosic.

The family wishes to thank Allied Skilled Nursing and Allied Hospice for their wonderful care of Harry.
