Margaret Rose “Murph” Donachie, 79, of Scranton, passed away Friday evening at the Regional Hospital of Scranton. Her husband of 49 years, Charles R. Donachie, died in 2008. Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Francis & Helen Walsh Flaherty and a graduate of Scranton Technical High School. Margaret was a homemaker, or as she would call it, a “domestic engineer”. She cared greatly for her children who gave her a favorite hobby: taking care of her grandchildren. Margaret also enjoyed travelling to New Jersey often with her friend Ellen. She is survived by a son, Charles J.; two daughters, Ann Marie Riley and Margaret Rose Tucker and husband, Craig; five grandchildren, Kristin, Helena, Paige, Molly Rose, and Matthew Charles; and brother Thomas Flaherty, Scranton. She was predeceased by one brother Francis Flaherty. The funeral will be Wednesday 8:45 a.m. from the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 262 Railroad Ave., West Scranton, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church, Williams Street in Scranton.
