The Lord called Mary Bohn, 93, home on Monday after a brief illness. Born in Scranton, she was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School and a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church.
She is survived by daughters Marilyn Mercer and husband Charles, Cynthia Richardson and husband Jan. Also surviving are her sons John and wife Mary Beth, Gregory and wife, Therese and Gary Bohn. Surviving sisters are Dorothy Zinsky and Theresa Bobersky. 17 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, several nieces and a nephew will miss her.
Sisters preceding her in death were Barbara Mann, Emily Coskey and Helen Himchak. Brothers that preceded her in death were Frank, Michael, John, George, William and Nicholas Mann. Daughters Joan Sullivan and a baby Ann Marie, as well as former husband Frank preceded her as well.
She dedicated her life to her family, and never lost her sense of humor. A friend of the poor and less fortunate, she taught us all the true meaning of humility. She loved shopping for others and never missed her morning get-together for coffee with the close friends she made over the years while residing at Washington West, Scranton.
Friends may call at the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 262 Railroad Avenue, West Scranton, from 4 P.M. to 7 P.M., Thursday evening. Panachyda Services will be at 6:30 pm. Those attending the funeral are to go directly to St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church, Scranton for Divine Liturgy at 10AM, Friday. Interment will be at St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Cemetery, Scranton
