Maryann Evanko, CRNP

Maryann Evanko CRNP, 75, of Scranton, passed on Thursday, October 10, at Geisinger Community Medical Center Emergency Room, after being stricken ill at home. Born in Scranton, Maryann was the daughter of the late Joseph and Helen Rusen Evanko. Maryann was a 1967 graduate of Dunmore High School, received her Bachelor of Science degree from Wilkes University, was a graduate of CMC School of Nursing and received her Masters of Science in Nursing, from the University of Pennsylvania. She was a lifetime member of St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church, Scranton, and had been employed as a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner for more than 25 years in the Neo-Natal Department of Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

A Funeral Liturgy was held on Thursday, October 17, by the Rev. Fr. Robert W. Lozinski, C.S.C. at St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church, Scranton. Interment followed at the parish cemetery.

Arrangements were under the direction and care of the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 262 Railroad Avenue, West Scranton.
