Melvin Ray Davis, 80, of Goldsboro, North Carolina, passed away peacefully Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Pocono. She was the widow of her best friend and loving husband, Charles Davis, who passed away on October 12, 2016. The couple had been married for 54 years. Melvin was born in Wayne County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Helen P. Jones. She was a graduate of Allen Hancock College, in Santa Maria, California and was a devoted homemaker who loved her family deeply. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was preceded in death by spouse, Charles B Davis Sr; father, Arthur Jones; mother, Helen Jones; sister, Pauline Jones; and brother Thomas Blackman. She leaves two devotedly loving sons Charles B Davis Jr and his wife Akua Digregorio- Davis and RayGene Little Sr, five grandchildren, Ivory Alexander Davis, Asa Corinth Davis, Caleb Asaiah Davis, Samaria Naomi Davis, and RayGene Little Jr, as well as one living sister Shanise Jones-Tolliver. She also leaves behind four living nieces and nephews and their children. A private service will be held in Arlington National Cemetery, where she will join her husband, the late Charles B Davis Sr in their rest. This will take place at the convenience of her family.
