Owenina “Nina” Worozbyt

Owenina “Nina” M. Worozbyt, 94, formerly of the Bellevue section of West Scranton, died Saturday night at the Dunmore Health Care Center. Her husband of 60 years, Michael S. Worozbyt died on March 1, 2004. Born in St. Ninians, Scotland, U.K., she was the daughter of the late John and Helen Hughes Travers. Nina was educated in St. Patrick’s School, Olyphant, and was a member of the former Holy Cross Parish in Bellevue and is a member of St. Patrick’s Parish, Scranton. Nina retired from Haddon Craftsmen where she was a binder. She was a devoted wife, mom, Nana and great Nana who was very vocal and proud of the accomplishments of her sons and their families. She was a fixture on Railroad Avenue whom everyone knew and always had a smile for those passing on her sidewalk as she sat on her front porch. She will be missed by many and fondly remembered by all that knew her. She is survived by two sons, Michael John Worozbyt and wife Emi, Sykesville, MD, Owen Worozbyt and wife Mary, Dunmore, six grandchildren, Michael Worozbyt and wife Tawanda, Christine Price and husband Clifford, Owen B. Worozbyt and wife Sara, Marc Worozbyt, Mary Bridgett Mitchell and husband William, Kelly Worozbyt, six great grandchildren, Everett, Madison, Wynter, Owen, Bo, Maggie and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four siblings, Edward Travers, Helen Orr, Betty Bedowski and Nan Levan. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, at 10:00 am in St. Patrick’s Church, West Scranton. Interment will follow in St. Vladimir Ukrainian Greek Catholic Cemetery, Minooka. Viewing for family and friends will be on Wednesday, in the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home, 262 Railroad Avenue, West Scranton from 4 to 8 pm
