Richard J. “PopPop” Chadwick, 60, of West Scranton, died Wednesday in the Commonwealth Hospice Unit at Scranton Regional Hospital. Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Clayton and Josephine Yanac Chadwick. Educated in West Scranton High School, Richard worked 25 years for Aramark at the University of Scranton as the Food Production Supervisor. He had an exemplary record of attendance and was inducted into the “Pro Deo Society” by the University of Scranton for 20 years of service. Richard was an avid Penn State and Pittsburgh Pirates fan. He will be deeply missed by his loving family and especially by his sister Bernie. Rich died after a lengthy illness surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by one son, Richard J. Chadwick Jr. and wife Carrie, Scranton, one daughter, Melissa Locker and husband James, Clifford Twp., one sister, Bernie Dzielak and husband Ed, Scranton, four grandchildren, Dominique, Hunter, Carson, Callie, two nieces, Jennifer Wildermann and Heather Barrett, Scranton, one uncle, Eugene Popien, Scranton and numerous cousins. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Michael and James Chadwick. A special thank you to Dr. Besher Kabak, the ICU doctors and nurses, and the Hospice nurses at Regional Hospital for their compassionate care and guidance. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 11 am in Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapel, Oram Street, Scranton, by the Rev. Martin M. Boylan, Pastor of St. Patrick’s Parish. Inurnment, Cathedral Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday, 10:30 am until time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The ARC, 115 Meadow Avenue, Scranton, PA 18505, in honor of Richard’s God Child, Heather Barrett. Arrangements directed by the Edward J.
