Shirley Rapaciewicz

Shirley A. Rapaciewicz, 57, of West Scranton died Friday morning at Allied Hospice. Her husband of 27 years is Ted Rapaciewicz. Born in Scranton, she is the daughter of the late Michael and Lois Price Watral. Shirley was educated in Scranton Schools and was employed as a crossing guard. Shirley was loved by many and enjoyed helping others in need. Shirley greatly enjoyed playing bingo, watching football, and a fresh cup of coffee. She is also survived by three sons, Brian VanValen and fiancé Kate, Scranton, Chad Bidwell and wife Maura, Dunmore, and Mark Bidwell, Scranton, one brother, Joseph Watral, Scranton, five grandchildren, Lois VanValen, Danielle Omalley- VanValen, Ronald Camp, Grace Bidwell and Flynn Bidwell  and numerous nieces and nephews. Shirley is also survived by her best friend and cousin Donna Thorpe, Scranton. Shirley is predeceased by a sister Denise Wasilko, brother Michael Watral, and grandchild Nicholas VanValen. A memorial service for family and friends will be on Thursday, 6 to 8 pm in the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 262 Railroad Avenue, West Scranton.
