A funeral service will be held in the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 262 Railroad Avenue, West Scranton officiated by the Rev. Philip Harendza, Pastor of St. Michael’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, Scranton.

Viewing for family and friends will be on Thursday, 10 until time of service at 11 am.

Carol A. Kapacs, 71 of Binghamton, NY, formerly of Scranton, passed away on Saturday, April 29 at O’Connor Hospital, Delhi, New York. Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Rose Potochnick Kapacs. Carol was a graduate of the former Scranton Technical High School and the Mercidian School of Nursing as a LPN. She was employed for many years as an LPN for the Johnson City United Health Services, Johnson City. Carol attended St. John’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Johnson City, NY. She is survived by her brother, Charles Kapacs and wife Mary Ann, Olyphant and her close friend and pseudo sister, Sharon Aton, Binghamton, NY. A funeral service will be held in the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 262 Railroad Avenue, West Scranton officiated by the Rev. Philip Harendza, Pastor of St. Michael’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Scranton. In lieu of flowers donations in Carol’s name can be made to the Mercy House of the Southern Tier, 212 N. McKinley Ave, Endicott, NY 13760. Interment will follow in St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Moscow, PA. Viewing for family and friends will be on Thursday, 10 until time of service at 11 am.
