Viewing for family and friends will be on Thursday, 5 to 7 pm

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10 am in St. Ann’s Basilica, by the Rev. Fr. Richard Burke, C.P., Pastor.

Interment will follow in Cathedral Cemetery.  in the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 262 Railroad Avenue, West Scranton.

Frances W. Hedrick, 80, passed on Christmas morning at Willowbrook Place, Clarks Summit. She had been very happily married to her husband of 51 years, Harold W. Hedrick, who passed in 2013. Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Sophie Pszeniczny Raymond and Joaquin Raymond. Frances was a 1959 graduate of West Scranton High School, a member of St. Ann’s Basilica Parish, and a former employee of Wells Fargo Bank, retiring after holding positions ranging from bank teller through branch manager.

Frances is survived by her two children; Debra Hedrick, Moosic, Paul Hedrick and wife Maria, Pittsburgh, two grandchildren; Emma Hedrick and Todd Hedrick, and nephew; Michael Chekan, Scranton. She was also predeceased by her sister, Patricia Wisniewski and niece, Marie Tyrrell.

Always the life of the party, Frances enjoyed dining out and drinking martinis with family at Cooper’s. She loved ice cream, Old Forge pizza, and visits from family pets, Stella and Goose.  In her spare time, Frances enjoyed reading the newspaper, watching GSN, playing scratch-off lottery tickets, and dominating in high stakes bingo.

Frances’s family would like to thank the staff and residents of Willowbrook Place for the loving care and compassion shown during her stay there.
