Marion C. Kowalski, 88, a lifelong resident of the Lincoln Heights section of Taylor, died Saturday at Allied Skilled Nursing Center. Her husband of 52 years, Edmund J. Kowalski Sr., died August 5, 2005. Born in Taylor, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Catherine Mellen. Marion was a graduate of Taylor High School and a loyal parishioner of SS Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Church, West Locust Street, Scranton where she attended faithfully. Marion’s kind heart, loving spirit and generosity will forever live in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know her. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were blessed with a wonderful mother and Reynolds Avenue will miss her friendly waves and hellos from her favorite seat on her front porch. She was a strong and friendly soul who was a great wife, mother, grandma, sister, aunt, neighbor and friend who will always be with us. Surviving are three daughters, Kathy Novak, Taylor and fiancée Tom Labukas, Scranton, Karen Lloyd and husband David, South Abington Twp., Maryanne Denczi and husband Butch, Eagleville, one son, Edmund Kowalski Jr and wife Renee, Jeffersonville, seven grandchildren, Ray Novak and wife Amy, Mark Novak and wife Courtney, Ross and Lucas Denczi, Olivia and Edmund P. Kowalski, Kate Lloyd, four great grandchildren, Nicholas, Ryan, Sammy and Mark Novak, one sister, Margie Plucenik and husband Nick, Mt. Cobb, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Paul and Michael Mellen and one sister, Irene Mellen. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, at 9:30 am in SS Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Church to be celebrated by the Rev. Sam J. Ferretti, Pastor. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery, Taylor. Viewing for family and friends will be on Monday, 5 to 8 pm, in the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 262 Railroad Avenue, West Scranton.
