Marion M. Durdan, 88, formerly of Elan Gardens, Clarks Summit, passed away peacefully at Geisinger Mountain View Care Center on Thursday, July 7, 2016. Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Pendrak Durdan. Marion was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School and Lackawanna College. She was employed by Metropolitan Life Insurance Company as the branch administrator retiring after 46 years of employment. Marion’s family meant the world to her and she continually asked is everybody OK? Forever showing kindness and respect to all she encountered. Rest in Peace to a great dignified “Lady”. Marion is survived by a brother, John Durdan Sr. and wife Charlene Durdan, South Abington Twp., Eleanor White and husband Chester White Sr., NJ, nieces, Mary White and husband William Klopsch, Barbara Osorio and husband George, nephews, James Durdan and fiancée Melissa Hemmler, John Durdan Jr. and wife Jo Ann, great nieces, Elizabeth Durdan, Megan Moschberger and husband Eric, a great nephew, Richard Monahan III and wife Becky, a great-great niece, great-great nephews and many cousins. She was predeceased by a nephew and Godchild, Chester White Jr. A special thank you from the family, to the staff at Elan Gardens and Geisinger Mountain View Care Center for the wonderful care and compassion shown to Marion during her stay. Viewing for family and friends will be on Sunday, 3 to 6 pm in the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 262 Railroad Avenue, West Scranton. A Funeral Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Monday, at 10 am in St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church, to be celebrated by the Rev. Fr. Leonard A. Martin, SJ, Pastor. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery, Minooka. Parastas services will be held on Sunday at 5:30 PM in the funeral home with a Panachyda service at 9:15 am on Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church, 310 Mifflin Ave, Scranton, PA 18503
