A private service for family will be held on Wednesday morning at 11 am by the Rev. Ginger Daubenhauser, and Military Awards will be presented to Edna Jenkins. Burial with full military honors will be held in Abington Hills Cemetery, 800 Morgan Highway, South Abington Township at 12:30 pm. All military, VFW, DAV, American Legion, AMVETS, affiliated Veteran organizations and the general public are invited to attend the burial and Military Honors at Abington Hills Cemetery,. The funeral cortege will traverse Railroad Avenue to Luzerne Street, to Main Ave., traveling north to the McDade Expressway to the Keyser Avenue exit then up the Morgan Hwy to Abington Hills Cemetery, where full Honors will be accorded by the United States Army.

PFC Willard “Bud” Jenkins was Killed in Action during WW II, serving with the 82nd Airborne Division as a paratrooper, assigned as an engineer on September 20, 1944. Bud was repatriated to his home town, Scranton, PA, 74 years to the day of his death. He was born in West Scranton on February 25, 1917, to the late David and Verna Morgan Jenkins. Bud is survived by his sister, Edna Jenkins, South Scranton, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by 8 siblings.
