Robert Marcinkevich, 70, of Jefferson Township, passed Friday, after being stricken ill at home. Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Anthony and Mary Marcinkevich. Educated in Scranton schools, Bob was employed in the commercial welding industry at Concrete Steps Unit, Scranton. He is survived by three daughters; Melissa Grzenda and husband Jeff, Texas, Jennifer Stein, Throop, Amy Curtin and husband Sean, New Jersey, one step-son Jason Kresock, Scranton, seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren, one sister, Mary Ann Rist, Scranton, one brother, George Marcinkevich and wife Mary, Scranton, his lifelong companion, Nancy Kresock, nieces, nephews and cousins. Bob was predeceased by one grandson, Tyler Marcinkevich, three brothers; William, Anthony and Johnny. Bob was an avid fisherman and hunter and enjoyed the out doors. He has been described as an “old school guy” who was a “jack of all trades” and was always willing to lend a hand.  Bob was a hard worker that always instilled a strong work ethic in his children. He  enjoyed working maintenance for many years at the Desandis greenhouses in Daleville. Bob had a “green thumb” and could often be found spending time in his garden and tending to his plants. He was an animal lover ,who was involved in the Senior for Paws program and adored his rescued companions. Bob’s genuine and gentle personality has touched the lives of many, and no one will forget his great sense of humor and “one-liner” jokes, for he was a man with a heart of gold.
