Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 12 noon, by the Rev. Fr. Richard Fox, at St Patrick’s Parish, 1403 Jackson St., West Scranton, 18504.

Interment will follow at the Cathedral Cemetery, West Scranton

Rose Ann Chervenick, 77, of West Scranton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 9. Born in Scranton on May 7, 1943 to Charles and Rose Stanchis. Rose Ann graduated from West Scranton High School in 1961 and was a member of the National Honor Society. She began her secretarial career at the Scranton Boys Club, afterwards for Burns and Lowe Architectural Company and then to United Way of Lackawanna County until she retired. Her greatest joy was fishing in Canada with her best buddy Joe, every year or at Wildwood Fish and Hunt Club, Lake Ariel region. Rose Ann was also an awesome cook and baker who always shared her treasured cookies and cakes with family members and many fund raisers and charities. Rose Ann is survived by her beloved husband, Joseph Chervenick, her cherished sister Helen and husband Dolph DiDario, Old Forge, her brother in-law John Chervenick and wife Dora, New Jersey, her favorite niece, Melissa Radle, whom she cared about very deeply and taught her the art of fishing, something she will always remember and several nieces and nephews and cousins. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 12 noon, by the Rev. Fr. Richard Fox, at St Patrick’s Parish, 1403 Jackson St., West Scranton, 18504. Masks and social distancing required. Interment will follow at the Cathedral Cemetery, West Scranton. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, there are no calling hours at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly request memorial contributions be made to Hospice of the Sacred Heart, 600 Baltimore Drive, Wilkes Barre, PA 18702 or a favorite charity. Arrangements have been entrusted to the direction and care of the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 262 Railroad Avenue, West Scranton.
