Viewing for family and friends will be on Sunday, 4 to 7 pm. Rosary Recital will begin at 6:30, followed by a Panachida service at 6:45 in the funeral home.

A Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Monday May 10, at 10 am by the Rev. Myron Myronyuk, in St. Vladimir Ukrainian Catholic Church.

Interment will be in the parish cemetery.

Masks and social distancing in the funeral home and church are required.

Stefan Tutka, 96 years young, passed on Sunday, May 2, at Regional Hospital of Scranton. His wife of 54 years, Paraskevia “Peg” Tutka, died in December of 2008. Born in Perlivitsi, Ukraine, he was educated in the Ukraine and was the son of the late John and Mary Tutka. Stefan was employed by the former A & P bakery in Scranton and retired from Harper and Row Publishers. He was a member of St. Vladimir Ukrainian Catholic Church, Scranton, St. Vladimir Choir, and the Ekumen Chorale of Olyphant, Teamsters Local 229 and the League of Ukrainian Catholics. Stefan volunteered for the St. Vladimir Church fundraising events and especially with the pierogi team. He enjoyed music, singing, dancing the polka and dancing with his fellow church members and friends as well as being an avid gardener. Stefan was a loving husband, father and grandfather who always placed family first. He is survived by two sons, Peter Tutka and wife Cathie, Apex, NC, John Tutka, Scranton two grandchildren; Thaddeus and Melanie Tutka, one brother; Jacob Tutka, Ukraine, nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by a brother, Nicholas Tutka. A Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Monday May 10, at 10 am by the Rev. Myron Myronyuk, in St. Vladimir Ukrainian Catholic Church. Viewing for family and friends will be on Sunday, 4 to 7 pm in the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 262 Railroad Avenue, West Scranton. Rosary Recital will begin at 6:30, followed by a Panachida service at 6:45. Masks and social distancing in the funeral home and church are required. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
