Stephanie Catherine Sakevich Ricino, died August 25, 2023 at CMC hospital after a long illness. Stephanie was born in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania in June of 1973 to Rosalie (Swartosky) Sakevich and Simon Sakevich Sr., both of North Scranton. Stephanie attended St. Joseph’s Elementary school in North Scranton with her sisters, Candal and Anita Sakevich. Stephanie later attended Bishop Hannan High School and Career Technology Center, earning a diploma and certification in Graphic Design. Stephanie worked for her entire adult life, spending most of it caring for others as a Certified Nurse’s Aide. Most recently, Stephanie was employed by National Bakery, Scranton. In 2012, Stephanie married her long-time partner, William (Billy) Ricino of Jessup, and together they built a great life. They spent their free time together on the motorcycle or in the truck going for a ride, simply enjoying each other’s company. She really did marry her best friend who still loves her very much. Stephanie holds a great respect for military personnel and veterans. She was a social member of General Theodore Wint VFW Post 25, VFW Post 5544 Jessup and the American Legion Olyphant. She was especially proud of the military service of her father and her sister. Her bright personality and beautiful smile will surely be missed by those who knew her in this capacity.
Stephanie leaves a great legacy of love and kindness here on earth and will be cherished forever by those who were privileged to know her. Stephanie is survived by her loving husband, Billy Ricino and step-son, Christian Evans of Dickson City. Stephanie is also survived by her mother, Rosalie Sakevich. Finally, Stephanie is survived by her three sisters; Anita Sakevich and husband Gene Ladd, Candal Sakevich and partner Jason Nocella and Grace Sakevich and husband Stephen Grushinski, all from North Scranton, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Stephanie was preceded in death by her father, Simon Sakevich Sr. (2006). The family would like to thank the Critical Care staff of Geisinger CMC for their compassion, service and support over the past few weeks.
