Diane M. Cogliser, 78, of West Scranton, passed away on Sunday morning at Allied Hospice Center, Scranton. Diane is the widow of Thomas P. Cogliser who passed in June of 2020. The couple had been married 53 years at the time of Tom’s passing.
Born in Scranton, Diane is the daughter of the late Medard and Betty Kowalski and is a graduate of Saint Ann’s High School. A woman of great faith, she was a devoted member of Saints Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Church where she was active in many church activities, including the Women’s Guild. Diane was an office manager at Lady Manhattan and WGBI and was a medical biller for many years prior to her retirement.
Diane was a loving wife, mother, and Babci. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Diane is survived by her daughter, Christine Herne and husband Keith, Scranton; three grandchildren, Brian Cogliser, Matthew and Victoria Herne; her sister, Mary Dobosh and husband Robert, Albrightsville; sisters-in-law Doris Sanner, Julie Kowalski, Jeannie Kowalski; Goddaughter Mary Kay Bolsar; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews; and several life-long friends. She was lovingly known as Babci to many family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by a son, Thomas M. Cogliser; brothers, Medard Kowalski Jr. and Richard Kowalski.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, at 10 am at Saints Peter & Paul R.C. Church, 1309 West Locust Street, Scranton, by the Rev. Lee Havey, C.P. Interment will follow at the parish cemetery. Viewing for family and friends will be Wednesday, 5 to 7 pm in the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 262 Railroad Avenue, West Scranton.
