David J. Maroni, 44, of Duryea, passed Sunday night at Geisinger/CMC. Born in Scranton, he is the son of the late Louis E. and Mary S. Christiano Maroni. Educated in Riverside High School, he was employed as a forklift operator for the Home Depot warehouse/distribution center. He is survived by his fiancée Mary Kate McGlynn, former wife, Marie Maroni, five sons; David I. Maroni, Anthony Maroni, Jason Catalano, Vincent Maroni, Giovanni Maroni; three daughters, Ava Maroni, Alina Maroni, Adrianna Maroni, two granddaughters; Lailani and Liliana, his six siblings; Cindy McAndrew, Tracey Stivala, Louis, Michael, John and James Maroni, nieces, nephews and cousins. A Blessing Service will be held on Friday, at 6:30 pm by the Rev. Deacon Carmine Mendicino, in the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 262 Railroad Avenue, West Scranton. Viewing for family and friends will be on Friday, 4 to 6:30 pm. Inurnment will be private in Cathedral Cemetery.
