Richard "Ricci" DeCicco

Richard “Ricci” DeCicco, 46, of Scranton, passed suddenly at home on Sunday. Born in Scranton, he is the son of Dorothy “Dottie” and Charles “Chuck” Watts, West Scranton. Ricci was educated in West Scranton High School and was the owner-operator of Superior Seal Coating of Scranton. Trying to capture the essence of Ricci is like trying to catch lightning in a bottle—impossible. He wasn’t just caring, fearless, and hilarious; he was a force of nature. Ricci, our one-of-a-kind friend, embodied a fierce loyalty in a way that went beyond words. Need a hand with something physical, a listening ear, or a good laugh? Ricci was your go-to guy. To many, he wasn’t just a friend; he was family. The void he leaves is immeasurable, and his absence will be deeply felt by everyone fortunate enough to have known him. Ricci, you were truly something special, and our hearts ache with the knowledge that we’ll miss you more than words can express. He is survived by his daughters, Emily Kuchwara, Scranton, Vincenza DeCicco, Old Forge, sisters, Kim Felkowski, Scranton, Debbie McAfee, Scranton, brother, Timothy DeCicco, Dickson City, nieces, nephews and lifelong friend Jennifer Kuchwara. He was predeceased by a sister, Cathy R. DeCicco Frederici, brother in-law, Mark McAfee and niece, Kirsten Felkowski.

In the face of the opioid epidemic gripping our community, we come to you with heavy hearts. Despite the outpouring of support in these challenging days, we choose to celebrate the joy and laughter Ricci brought to our lives. His memory highlights the urgency of addressing substance abuse. If you or someone you know struggles with addiction, take action. Reach out for help to prevent another family from enduring the pain of burying a cherished soul prematurely. In Ricci’s memory, and in lieu of flowers, please consider donating to a charity of your choice.
