Catherine T. Lipinski, 78, of North Scranton, passed away on Monday morning at Abington Manor. She is the wife of Joseph J. Lipinski Jr., who were married for 56 years. Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late William and Dorothy Brady George. Catherine was a member of Mary, Mother of God Parish where she taught Sunday School, prior to her marriage to Joseph. She was a 1964 graduate of Scranton Central High School, a 1966 graduate of Lackawanna College, having earned an Associate Degree. Catherine was employed as the bookkeeper for Powers Department Store, Keyser Oak Plaza, Service Merchandise, Scranton Carbondale Highway, and also worked for convenient stores located at Market Street and Brick Avenue, North Scranton, and North Main Avenue, in the Marvin section of the city. She is survived by her husband Joseph, sons; Joseph Lipinski and wife Deanne, Lake Winola, and Brian Lipinski and companion, Jessica Huff, Lewisburg, one grandson, one granddaughter, three great grandsons, siblings, Dorothy Shoemaker and companion, Charles Watts, Scranton, William George and wife Marjorie, Scranton, nieces, nephews and cousins. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, at 10 am, by the Rev. Fr. Cyril Edwards, Pastor of Mary, Mother of God Parish, 316 William Street, North Scranton, 18508. Visitation for family and friends will be from 9 am until time of Mass at the church. Interment will follow in Cathedral Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Catherine’s name can be made to Mary, Mother of God Parish. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Edward J.
