Margaret M. Jasinski, 96, of the Bellevue section of Scranton, died Thursday morning after being stricken ill at home. Her husband is Stanley H. “Cappy” Jasinski and the couple would have celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on November 15th. Born in Dupont, Luzerne County, she was the daughter of the late George and Mary Durkot Kostick. Margaret was a 1939 graduate of Scranton Central High School, a member of St. Paul of the Cross Parish, and was a homemaker who dedicated herself to the rearing of her children and grandchildren. She was a former member of the American Ukrainian Veterans Auxiliary, the West Scranton PTA, a volunteer for the West Scranton Little League and Teener League, and the Holy Cross Athletic Association. Margaret was a multi gallon blood donor and she was a bingo enthusiast. Also surviving are one son, Thomas R. Jasinski and wife Lori, Nicholson, two daughters, Mary Margaret Jasinski, Dunmore, Ellen McNamara, Harrisburg, four grandchildren, Jennifer O’Malley and husband Brian, Allyson Skiba, Daniel McNamara, Thomas Jasinski Jr., one great granddaughter, Madison Margaret O’Malley, son in law Bruce J. Kobeski, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also preceded in death by six siblings, John, George, Paul and Peter Kostick, Helen Sexton and Irene Callahan. Her funeral will be on Monday, beginning at 9:00 am from the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 262 Railroad Avenue, West Scranton, with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated Monday at 9:30 am in Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Church at St. Paul of the Cross Parish, 1217 Prospect Avenue, South Scranton by the Rev. Scott P. Sterowski, Pastor. Interment will follow in the Parish Cemetery. Viewing for family and friends will be on Sunday, in the funeral home, 4 to 7 pm.
