Kimberly Wharton, 42, of the Heights section of Taylor, passed on Thursday at Moses Taylor Hospital where she was a patient. Born in Scranton, she is the daughter of Suzanne Aniska, Taylor, with whom resided and Thomas Wharton, Luzerne County. Kimmy was educated in West Scranton High School and had attended St. Ann’s Basilica Parish as well as the yearly Novena to St. Ann. Kimberly had an enormous heart and loved her family, friends and pets very much. She was someone you could always count on, no matter the time of day, you could call her and she would answer. For those that knew Kim, her door was always open for them. Her children were her world and enjoyed going to their sporting events and school functions. She was their biggest supporter and loved them so much. They will miss her more than anything. Kim enjoyed going to county fairs, flea markets and reading, especially history books and the Bible. Kim is also survived by her three children; Mary Jane Wharton, Casey Thomas Wharton and Thomasina Susanna Wharton, a sister; Madeline Wharton, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also predeceased by her brother Thomas Wharton Jr., her paternal grandparents; Harry and Adele Wharton and maternal grandparents; Joseph and Mary Aniska. A Blessing Service will be officiated on Tuesday by the Rev. Deacon Carmine Mendicino at 4:30 pm in the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 262 Railroad Avenue, West Scranton. Viewing for family and friends will be on Tuesday, 2 till time of services at 4:30 pm.
