Adam Barletta, 72, of S. Abington Twp., passed away on May 30, 2023. Born in Exeter, he was the son of the late Nicholas and Mildred Barletta. His wife of 51 years is Susan McCrea Barletta. He was educated in the Pittston Area School District and retired from Tobyhanna Army Depot. Adam proudly served in the Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. Along with his wife he is survived by four children; daughter, Jessica Barletta and companion Nicholas, S. Abington Twp.; twin daughters, Laura Barletta D’Agostino and Lacey Arcuri and husband Michael, Scranton; and a son, Adam James Barletta and wife Bria, Scranton. Also surviving are his five beloved grandchildren; Anthony Chesko, Keira D’Agostino, twins Michael and Makayla Arcuri, and Beckam Barletta. He is also survived by six siblings; Joseph Barletta and wife Victoria, Lake Ariel, Samuel Barletta and wife Kathy, Snydersville, Malcolm Barletta and wife Barbara, Ransom, Ethel Barletta, Scranton, Carmen Barletta, Pittston, Richard Barletta, Scranton, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and three brothers, Phillip, Jack, and Robert Barletta. Adam enjoyed his retirement spending time with his family. He loved sitting outside on his deck surrounded by his children, grandchildren, and the love of his life, his “Sue B”. The family gives a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, as well as Adam’s sister-in-law, Lory Loreto.
Calling hours will be on Friday, June 9 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 262 Railroad Avenue, West Scranton. A celebration of life service will be on Saturday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Military honors will be accorded at the conclusion of the service. Interment will be private.
