Alan Zapotochny

Alan Zapotochny, 79, of East Mountain, passed away on Friday at Moses-Taylor Hospital, Scranton. The love of his life Dolores Zapotochny, for 53 years, died on May 30, 2020. Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Stephen and Mary Zapotochny. Alan was a graduate from Scranton Technical High School and worked as a foreman for Sandvik Materials Technology. Alan was an avid racing fan and enjoyed cheering on the NY Giants. He had a sharp, quick witted sense of humor and loved going on vacations with family members to the Outer Banks of NC. Alan is survived by his sister, Elaine Noll and husband Robert, sister in laws Margie Germick and husband Edward, Joan Gray, cousins, nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to express the deepest gratitude to the entire staff at Hematology & Oncology Associates in Dunmore and especially Dr Carl Barsigian for their kindness, compassion and excellent care.

A private burial service will be held in St. Vladimir’s Cemetery, officiated by the Rev. Father Myron Myronyuk. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care and direction of the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 262 Railroad Avenue, West Scranton.

Burial Date: May 3, 2022

A private burial service will be held in St. Vladimir’s Cemetery, officiated by the Rev. Father Myron Myronyuk. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care and direction of the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 262 Railroad Avenue, West Scranton.
