Ann Boyko, 89, South Scranton, died Tuesday at Regional Hospital of Scranton. Her husband of 60 years, Joseph Boyko, died in 2006. Born in Taylor, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Eva Novak Wesnak. Educated in Taylor schools, she was a member of St. George’s Orthodox Greek Catholic Church, Taylor and retired from Haddon Craftsmen. Ann will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many, who enjoyed being in the company of her family. She is survived by two daughters, JoAnn Boyko Romano Hallesky and husband Dr. George J. Hallesky, Scott Twp., Marlene A. Boyko Pica and husband Anthony J. Pica, Scranton, one son, Joseph Boyko, South Carolina, seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by four brothers and one sister. Ann’s family wishes to thank the Mountain View Care Center’s staff for their compassionate care and to Dr’s Gerard Nealon, Charles Deck, John Kutz and Stephen Pancoast for their extended and professional care given to Ann. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 10 am by the Very Rev. Nestor Kowal, in the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 262 Railroad Avenue, West Scranton. Entombment will follow in the Glenwood Mausoleum, Morgan Highway. Viewing for family and friends will be on Thursday, 4 to 7 pm.
