Ann Marie Serkosky

Ann Marie Serkosky, 68, of Tripps Park section of Scranton, died on Friday after several years of battling cancer. Her husband of 25 years, Robert V. Serkosky died on March 18, 1993. Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Anna Puzak Padrusnak. A 1965 graduate of Scranton Technical High School, she had been employed by Harper and Rowe Publishing and P & G Health Care and was a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church. Ann Marie was a woman who gave from her heart and never wanted anything in return. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and the many people she came to meet throughout her lifetime. She enjoyed to cook, travel, shop, bake, going to the casino, RV camping and most of all spending quality time with her one and only granddaughter Anissa, who was the apple of her eye. She is survived by her son Robert V. Serkosky, Scranton, her daughter, Ann Marie Hakki and husband Fadi Z. Hakki, Boyds, MD, one granddaughter Anissa, one brother, Stephen Padrusnak and wife Michele, Scranton, one sister-in-law, Judith Krypel, Cortland, NY, fiancée Will Murray, Clarks Summit, nieces, nephews and cousins. Ann Marie’s family extends a special thank you to the entire staff of Traditional Home Health and Hospice, Dunmore, and an exceptional thank you to all the doctors that took astounding care of our mother, Drs. Padmaja Bojanapally, Harmar D. Brereton, Daniel J. Brown, Michael K. Montella and the staff at Northeast Radiation Oncology, Dunmore. Her funeral will be on Wednesday at 9:45 from the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 262 Railroad Avenue, West Scranton, with a Funeral Divine Liturgy at 10:30 am in St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church, Linden St., Scranton, to be celebrated by the Rev. Leonard A. Martin, S.J., Pastor. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery, Minooka. Parastas/Panachida services will be on Tuesday at 6:30 pm. A viewing for family and friends will be on Tuesday 4 to 7 pm. In Lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Traditional Home Health and Hospice, 113 West Drinker St., Dunmore, PA 18512.
