Arthur J. Lonsdorf, 79, of South Scranton, was called to The Lord, April 1, 2022 at Regional Hospital of Scranton, surrounded by his family. His devoted wife of 45 years is Sara Serrenti Lonsdorf. Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Leo and Margaret Lonsdorf. Arthur was a graduate of St. Mary of The Assumption High School, South Scranton and had been employed by Ingersol-Rand, the Chamberlain Corporation and was a self-employed painting contractor, He was a former member of St. Mary of The Assumption Church, and is a member of St. John Neumann Parish.
Arthur is survived by his wife Sara, daughter; Jennifer Zackoski and husband Richard, Throop, son; Michael Lonsdorf, Scranton, four grandsons, Austin, Colin, Chase and Grayson, all of Throop, one sister; June Guimento, Dunmore, two sister inlaws; Joann Bogdanski, Marie Zielinski, brother in law; John Kaminsky, nieces and nephews.
Arthur was predeceased by three sisters; Elizabeth Lonsdorf and two infant sisters, three brothers Arthur, Frank and William Lonsdorf.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at 11 am, by the Rev. Jonathon Kuhar in The Nativity of Our Lord Church at St. John Neumann Parish, 633 Orchard Street, Scranton, PA 18505. Interment will be private. There are no calling hours at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction and care of the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 262 Railroad Avenue, West Scranton.
