Carol A. Shuminksi

Carol A. Shuminski of West Scranton, passed on Saturday at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital.

Frank Shuminski is her high school sweetheart and her husband of nearly 59 years. Her love for her husband was that of fairy tales. They were married on her 21st birthday, and even after 58 years of marriage, they held hands, stared into each other’s eyes and did everything together.

Her love for her husband was reciprocated in every way.  She adored her children and grandchildren and sacrificed to educate each of them and was always ready and available to help them in any way that was needed.  She loved to travel with her husband and to travel with her children and grandchildren.  She became an avid hockey and baseball fan because of her grandson whom she followed on his travel teams.

Born in Scranton, Carol is the daughter of the late Edward and Ann Jurbala Witowski. Carol is a member of St. Ann’s Basilica Parish and retired from PNC Bank as the Mailroom and Records Department Manager. After her retirement, she worked part time for Weight Watchers for many years.
