Christopher W. Nenish, 48, of St. Petersburg, Florida passed away unexpectedly at Bayfront Health, St. Petersburg.
Born in Scranton, son of the late Patricia and Walter Kowanick, he was a graduate of West Scranton High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army and worked in the logistics transportation and food service industries. Chris was an avid NASCAR fan, enjoyed traveling throughout the United States, and was very fond and proud of his nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Chris was preceded in death by a brother, Michael. Chris is survived by a brother, David and wife Paula, Jessup; two sisters, Melissa Gast and husband Michael, Maryland, and Jennifer Nee, Scranton; a niece, Siobhan Nee and partner Frank Rivolo, Moosic; two nephews, Michael Gast, Jr., Rhode Island, and Brendan Nee, Jr., Scranton; a great niece, Ariella Rivolo; aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Cremation services were performed by A Life Tribute Funeral Care, Florida. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, September 18, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Ann’s Basilica, 1233 St. Anns Street, Scranton. Friends may call on Tuesday, 5 to 7 p.m. at the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 262 Railroad Avenue, West Scranton.
