Dorothy Fleck, 90, of West Scranton, passed on Wednesday, at Allied Hospice Center, Scranton with her family at her side. Dorothy and her late husband Victor Fleck were married for 63 years at the time of his passing in 2018. Born in Scranton, she is the daughter of the late Stephen and Mary Jurbala Karsnak. Dorothy was a 1951 graduate of West Scranton High School. In her younger years, she worked at Scranton Hobby where she met her husband of 63 years, Victor Fleck. After the birth of her two children, Victor M. and Debbie, she was a dedicated homemaker for her family. She was a member of St. Vladimir Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church and was an active member of the church Blessed Virgin Mary Guild, quilting club, the pierogi making team as well as being a volunteer for many of the church fund raisers. Dorothy is survived by her son, Victor M. Fleck and wife Jill, Avenel, New Jersey, daughter Debbie Dommes and husband Robert, Scranton, her granddaughter, Ashley Dommes, Scranton, her brother, Stephen Karsnak and wife Brenda, Scranton as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Wednesday, at 11 am in St. Vladimir Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church by the Rev. Fr. Myron Myronyuk, Pastor. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery, Minooka. Viewing for family and friends will be on Tuesday, 4 to 7 pm, with a Panachyda Service at 6:30 pm in the Edward J.
