Edward J Hanis, 33, formerly of West Scranton, died Monday at Geisinger/CMC. Born in Scranton, he is the son of Edward A. and Anne C. Wojewodski Hanis, of Scranton. Eddie was a 1999 graduate of West Scranton High School, a 2003 graduate of Keystone College and received a BS in Computer Technology. He was a member of the Cathedral of St. Peter and was employed as a computer tech at Tobyhanna Army Depot. He is also survived by his sisters, Michelle Romanaskas and husband Robert, Ransom Twp., and Danielle Hanis and significant other, Stephen Masterson, Scranton, 2 nieces, Ava and Olivia Romanaskas, 3 uncles including Robert Hanis and wife Mary Carol, Peckville, a great aunt, Pauline Fiehls, Scranton, a great uncle, Raymond Wojewodski and wife Carol, Scranton and numerous cousins. His funeral will be held on Saturday at 8:45 am from the Edward J Chomko Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 262 Railroad Avenue, West Scranton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am in St. Peter’s Cathedral to be celebrated by the Rev. Phillip Altavilla, Pastor. Interment will follow in Cathedral Cemetery. Viewing for family and friends will be on Friday, 5 to 8 pm.
