Eleanor Stawinsky

Eleanor M. Stawinsky, 88, of North Scranton, passed on Saturday, at home surrounded by her loving family. Her husband Jacob P. Stawinsky, passed in 1988. Born in Scranton, she is the daughter of the late August and Catherine Weller. Eleanor was educated in Scranton Schools, was a member of Mary, Mother of God Parish. Eleanor had worked as a seamstress in the local garment industry and retired from Consumer Credit Counseling. She is survived by two sons; Jacob Stawinsky III & wife Cheryl, Stephen Stawinsky and wife Carmella, all of Scranton, three daughters; Deborah Beavers and husband Lee, Mary Fuller and husband Earl, all of Scranton, and Diane Forsythe and husband Tom, North Carolina. 16 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, one great-great grandson, two sisters; Mary Drozdik and husband Andrew, Clarks Summit, Ann Fromert, Moscow, numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one son, David Stawinsky, three sisters; Mary Acciai, Catherine Tunis, Rose Brudnicki and two brothers; James A and John J. Weller. Viewing for family and friends will be on Tuesday, 4 to 7 pm in the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 262 Railroad Avenue, West Scranton. Masks and social distancing will be required for viewing and at church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 9:30 am in Holy Rosary Church, Mary Mother of God Parish. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.

Burial Date: March 31, 2021

Viewing for family and friends will be on Tuesday, 4 to 7 pm in the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home & Cremation Services.

 

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 9:30 am in Holy Rosary Church, Mary Mother of God Parish.

 

Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.

 

Masks and social distancing will be required for viewing and at church.
