Eleanor Yatzun, 92, of the Bellevue section of Scranton, died Sunday, at the VNA Hospice at Geisinger/CMC. Her husband of 47 years, Joseph Yatzun died on October 23, 1993. Born in Scranton on July 13, 1922, she was the daughter of the late John J. Sr. and Ida Moore Tobin. Educated in Scranton schools, she was a member of the former Holy Cross Church in Bellevue and of St. Patrick’s Parish, West Scranton. Eleanor retired from the Scranton Community Bake Shop as the retail manager. Eleanor was a loving wife, mother Gamma and great Gamma who centered her lifestyle around her family and was the favorite go to assistant of the family. She also enjoyed bingo and going to the casino. She is survived by two sons, Joseph Yatzun, Boise, ID., Michael Yatzun and wife Karen, Taylor, three daughters, Eleanor Kernich, Patricia Luongo and husband Joseph, Jacqueline Donahue and fiancée Bryan Scalf, all of Scranton, ten grandchildren, seven great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by several siblings. Eleanor’s family would like to thank Telespond and the VNA nurses and staff for the kind and compassionate care that was given to Eleanor and her family, along with a special thank you to Paula Fringuellotti who was her home care giver. Her funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday at 10 am in St. Patrick’s Church, 1403 Jackson Street, West Scranton, to be celebrated by Father Stephen Krawontka. Interment will follow in Cathedral Cemetery. There are no calling hours in the funeral home. Arrangements conducted by the Edward J.
