Eugene A. “Tony” Jankowski

Eugene A. “Tony” Jankowski, 73, of West Scranton, passed on Saturday at Geisinger/CMC where he was a surgical patient. He was the widower of the late Valerie Whymeyer Jankowski. Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Eugene J. and Helen Bienick Jankowski. Tony was a graduate of West Scranton High School, of the Catholic Faith, a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps, a veteran of the Vietnam War Era serving as an aircraft ground equipment mechanic and was a retired truck driver for Pyne Freight.

Tony is survived by his four children, Eugene Jankowski Jr and wife Kristy, Elmhurst Twp., Christopher Jankowski, Scranton, Tiffany Jankowski, Scranton, Valerie Jankowski and companion Erik Demeraski, Scranton, 15 grandchildren, Tony’s companion, Ruth Czachor, Scranton, daughter in law Angel Puckett, Scranton. He was predeceased by his wife Valerie,  daughter Jillian Jankowski and siblings, Rita Jankowski and Leo Jankowski.

Visitation for family and friends will be on Wednesday, 4 to 6:30 pm in the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 262 Railroad Avenue. Blessing Services will be at 6:30 pm in the funeral home officiated by the Rev. Fr. Richard Fox, Pastor of St. Patrick’s Parish, West Scranton. Interment will be private at SS Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Cemetery, Taylor.

Burial Date: April 2, 2025

Visitation for family and friends will be on Wednesday, 4 to 6:30 pm in the funeral home.

Blessing Services will be at 6:30 pm in the funeral home officiated by the Rev. Fr. Richard Fox, Pastor of St. Patrick’s Parish, West Scranton.

Interment will be private at SS Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Cemetery, Taylor.
