Frances “Fluffy” G. Sokoloski, 99, formerly of West Scranton, passed on Tuesday at the Green Ridge Care Center. Her husband of 65 years, Frank S. Sokoloski passed in 2012. Born on August 3, 1923 in Old Forge, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Rose Woloscz Glevick. Educated in Old Forge schools, she was a member of SS Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church, West Scranton and worked as a seamstress in the local garment industry. Frances later started her custom drapery design business, and over two decades, decorated several area restaurants, country clubs and dozens of homes.
Frances is survived by one son, Joseph Sokoloski and wife Judie, Peckville, two granddaughters; Brandy Sokoloski and fiancée Kris Patrick Sheridan, Peckville, Tracy Sklareski and husband Chris, Dickson City, one great grandson; Chase J. Sklareski. Frances was also preceded in death by her sisters; Jean Beagle, Josephine Kalinick and brother, John Glevick.
The family would like to thank the staff of Aventura at Terrace View, the Green Ridge Care Center, and Allied Services Hospice for their kind and compassionate care of Frances.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, at 12 noon by Deacon Carmine Mendicino, in the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 262 Railroad Avenue, West Scranton. Interment will be private.
Viewing for family and friends will be on Friday, 11 am until time of service.
