Gary M. Kozlowski, 62, of South Scranton, died Wednesday, in Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore. His wife is Rosaleen Fitzell Kozlowski. Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Chester and Florence Zamushinski Kozlowski. Educated in Scranton Technical High School, he had been employed as a painter for Diamond Casket and Casket Shells Inc. until his illness. Gary was an avid bowler at South Side Lanes and enjoyed the company of his many friends on league night. Everyone that met Gary loved him because of his personality and his caring about other people. He loved his dog Scarlet and will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends. He is survived by one son, Gary Kozlowski Jr., one sister, Karen Loss and husband Paul, two brothers, Daniel Kozlowski and wife Romayne, Chester Kozlowski and wife Laura, all of Scranton, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was also preceded in death by an infant sister. Gary’s family thanks Dr. John Boehmer and his staff from Hershey Medical Center, Dr. Yvonne Galella, and the staff at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore, for their wonderful and compassionate care. His funeral will be on Monday, beginning at 9:15 from the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 262 Railroad Avenue, West Scranton, with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 am, at St. Paul of the Cross Parish in Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Church, 1217 Prospect Ave., Scranton, to be celebrated by the Rev. Scott P. Sterowski, Pastor. Interment will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Throop. Viewing for family and friends will be on Sunday, 4 to 8 pm.
