George J. Pifcho

George J. Pifcho,78, of Scranton, passed Sunday evening at Geisinger CMC. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Gloria Seymour Pifcho. Born in Scranton, he is the son of the late George and Anna Pifcho. George was educated in West Scranton High School, a Navy Veteran having served in Vietnam, was of the Catholic Faith, a member of the San Cataldo Club of Pittston, and retired from Tobyhanna Army Depot.

He is survived by his wife Gloria, their son, Gary McPhillips and wife Kelly, daughters, Debra Fuller and husband Charles Jr., Barbara Pifcho,  seven grandchildren, Melinda Conforti, Jud Roth, Sierra McPhillips, Christian and Michael Baldoni, Brookelynn and Hayley Sherman, seven great grandchildren, four sisters, Marykay Schultz, Annmarie Yurchak, Roseann Liberty, Helen Danko, nieces, nephews and cousins. George was predeceased by his parents, three brothers; Robert L. Pifcho Sr., Jack Prevish, Kenneth Prevish, three sisters; Bettyjean Fezuk, Barbara McAllister and Dorothy Pifcho.

A Blessing Service will be officiated on Friday morning, June 28 at 10 am, by the Rev. Fr. Richard Fox, Pastor of St. Patrick’s Parish, West Scranton, in the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 262 Railroad Avenue, West Scranton. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Park; Elmhurst Twp. Military Honors will be accorded by the United States Navy and the Dickson City Veterans Honor Guard. Viewing for family and friends will be on Thursday, 5 to 7 pm
