Gina DeStefano, 40, of Old Forge, passed away on Thursday. Born in Scranton, She was the daughter of Richard and Elizabeth DeStefano, Old Forge. A 1995 graduate of West Scranton High School, she had formerly worked in document management for Diversified and in corporate accounts for UPS. Gina was of the Catholic Faith, a former member of Scranton St. Patrick’s Parish Youth Group and a volunteer for the Anita Kauffman Foundation for Epilepsy. She was an avid snow skier and a world traveler, visiting Italy, the Czech Republic, Jamaica, Hawaii, Ireland and the United Kingdom. Gina also leaves behind her brother, Richard DeStefano and his companion, Jacki Brooks, Old Forge, two sisters, Dana DeStefano and companion, Josh Cornell, Scranton, Maria DeStefano and fiancée Andre Hardy, Old Forge, two nieces, Margaret Hardy and Lydia Cornell, one nephew Andre Hardy and her canine companion and protector, Enzo. Also surviving, aunts, Patricia Conon-Lagerman, Grace Catalano, Andrea Petrillo; cousins, Theresa Catalano, Andie and Julianne Petrillo. A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, 4 to 7 pm in the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home, 262 Railroad Avenue, West Scranton, with Services at 7 pm, by the Rev. Fr. James Paisley. Inurnment will be private at the convenience of the family.
