Gloria Y. Fisher, 92, of Scranton, passed on Thursday morning at Geisinger/CMC. She is the widow of the late Carl Fisher. Gloria was born in Lowell, Massachusetts to the late Joseph and Blanche Marion Mainville. Gloria was a former member of St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church, Scranton and was a homemaker for her children and her grandchildren. Gloria enjoyed scratch off lottery tickets, playing card/board games, coloring, writing letters, loved listening to and singing country music, and especially being with her family.
Gloria is survived by her four children, Cheryl McPhillips and husband Jerry, Scranton, son Carl Fisher Jr., Scranton, Cindy Davis, Scranton, Cathy Gerrity and husband James, Dunmore, 15 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, one great- great granddaughter. She was predeceased by her parents, husband Carl, sons, Ralph Denigris, Curtis Fisher, daughters, Roseann Denigris and Carlene Fisher. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, at 10 am, by the Rev. Monsignor, Neil J. Van Loon, V.F., Pastor at St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church, 1510 Penn Avenue, Scranton, 18509. Interment will follow at Dunmore Cemetery. The viewing for family and friends will be on Wednesday, 4 to 7 pm in the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 262 Railroad Avenue, West Scranton.
