The Gardens of Heaven were blessed with another beautiful flower as Helen Nidoh Zelinski passed into eternity from the Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore on June 28, 2016 with her family by her side. Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Mary Gulyk Nidoh. She was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School, and retired from the local garment industry after many years. Helen enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, like teaching her grandchildren one of her favorite hobbies, reinforcing with her children that the easiest way is not always the best way, basking in unconditional love from family pets and adorning her beautiful flower gardens with the “special touch” that made them flourish all year round… this is how we will remember our Mom. Surviving are two daughters, Rebecca Munley and husband Jack, Scranton, Cheryl Arnold and husband Rick, Millsboro, DE and son Robert Zelinski and wife Amy, Olyphant. Four beloved grandchildren, Angelina and Alexander Arnold, and Robert and Zoe Zelinski, sisters-inlaw, Terry, Mary, and Shirley Nidoh, Helen Zelinski, nieces and nephews. Helen was the baby sister of the Nidoh family and was preceded in death by sisters, Susan and Anne Nidoh, and Mary Aniska (Joseph), brothers, Peter (Mary), John, Joseph (Alice), William, Paul, Stephen, Nicholas (Jean), Martin and Michael Nidoh. Special thanks to Dr. Michael Rogan, Geisinger Mount Pleasant, Geisinger Medical Center, 6th floor medical staff and Hospice of the Sacred Heart, who were our strength and support during these last few days. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 am in SS Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Church, West Locust Street, Scranton. Interment will follow in St. Vladimir Catholic Cemetery, Minooka. Viewing for family and friends will be on Thursday, 4 to 8 pm in the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 262 Railroad Avenue, West Scranton
