Jamie Nicolosi D’Agostino, 70, of West Scranton, passed away on Monday, July 21, after an extremely difficult and courageous five-year battle with COPD. Through great strength and determination, she was able to meet her grandson, Emerson, who brought her immense joy in her final weeks.

Born on March 20, 1955, she was the daughter of the late James and Eleanor “Nelly” Nicolosi. Jamie was a proud graduate of West Scranton High School, Class of 1973.

She is survived by her three children: Brittany D’Agostino-Rivera and husband Alexander, of Lake Ariel; Michael D’Agostino, of Old Forge; and Rodney D’Agostino, of Scranton. She is also survived by her sisters, Josephine Miller and Mary O’Malley, both of Scranton; five grandchildren, Keira, Michael, Michaelina, Beatrice, and Emerson; a great-granddaughter; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents, Jamie was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Porky” D’Agostino, and her companion, Michael Pasco.

To know Jamie was to truly love her. She will be fondly remembered for her kind spirit, warm heart, and unwavering compassion for others. Her greatest pride and joy in life was her children.

The family extends their deepest gratitude to the Allied Hospice team who cared for Jamie with exceptional compassion and dignity over the past two years. She considered each of them part of her family—Penny, Jonathon, Joyce, Jennifer, Heather, Maria, and Nicole. A special thank you is also extended to her dedicated in-home aide, Sherry Frisbie, for her daily care and devotion.
