Joseph K. Hynosky Sr., 74 of West Scranton, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday. Born in Dunmore, he is the son of the late Leo R. and Ann Hynosky. Educated in Scranton schools, he was a United States Army Veteran, was of the Catholic Faith, retired from the Scranton Sewer Authority as a plant operator and was a member of the Northeast Pleasure Riders Club. Joe was very skilled working with his hands especially with home repairs. He was a Harley Davidson enthusiast and put many, many miles riding his Harley throughout the USA. He enjoyed country music, country dancing, fishing, roller skating, and playing his guitar and organ. He is survived by his sons, Joseph K. Jr. and Brian Hynosky, both of Scranton, his sisters, Helen Rose DiLeo and husband Sam, Taylor, Delores Finerrow, Ellenville, NY, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was also preceded in death by five siblings, Robert and Donald Hynosky, Marion DiLeo, Dorothy Sampson and Ann Hatcher. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, at 10:30 am by the Rev. Deacon Carmine Mendicino, in the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 262 Railroad Avenue, West Scranton. Interment will follow in Cathedral Cemetery with Military Honors. Viewing for family and friends will be on Tuesday, 5 to 8 pm.
