Julia Jaworski

Julia Jaworski, 94, of the Bellevue section of West Scranton, passed on Sunday evening after an extended illness. She was the widow of the late Charles M. Jaworski who passed on November 23, 1982. Born in Scranton, she is the daughter of the late Harry Sr. and Eva Mokis. Julia was educated in West Scranton high School, was a member of St. Ann’s Basilica Parish, was a member of the Polish Union of America, the former Ukrainian Progressive Club, serving as a Board Member and was employed by the former Capitol Records, All Disc Records of N.J., Golo Footwear and retired from Anemostat. Julia is survived by two daughters, Donna Celuck and husband Richard, Old Forge, Melanie “Mel” Dougher and husband William, Scranton, six grandchildren; Julia Brister and husband Brian, Clarks Summit, Richard Celuck and fiancée Tara Decker, Moosic, Sommur Connor and husband Brian, Dalton, Timothy Celuck and wife Deborah, Taylor, Michael Celuck, Old Forge, Ashley Ruddy and companion Harrison Swartz, VA. Eight great grandchildren, Maddie, Zachary, Mackenzie, Brennan, Avary, Timothy John, Kelsey, Paityn, one sister, Dorothy Torsky, Allentown, and son inlaw Joseph Ruddy and fiancée Laure Gilboy Walsh, Lake Wallenpaupack, nieces, nephews and cousins. Julia was predeceased by a daughter, Deborah Ruddy, a grandson, Sgt. William “Billy” Dougher and seven siblings. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am, Friday, in St. Ann’s Basilica. Interment will follow in Cathedral Cemetery. Julia’s family would like to thank the Traditional Home Health Care and Hospice for their kindness and support throughout her illness. Viewing for family and friends will be on Thursday, 4 to 7 pm in the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 262 Railroad Avenue, West Scranton.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am, Friday, in St. Ann’s Basilica.

Interment will follow in Cathedral Cemetery.
