Karen Flannigan, 57, of West Scranton, died Thursday in the Golden Living Nursing Home, Scranton, after an extended illness. Born in Scranton, she was a daughter of the late Kenneth E. and Louise Ida Carpenter Flannigan. Karen was a 1975 graduate of West Scranton High School, worked in the catalog/sales industry and was a member of the former St. John The Baptist Church and St. Patrick’s Parish, Scranton.
Karen was a loving daughter and sister who was always there for her brother Kenny. She is survived by her brother Kenneth M. Flannigan, Scranton, 2 nephews, 3 nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins. She was also preceded in death by an infant sister, Kathleen and sister in-law, May Beth Flannigan. Her funeral will be on Tuesday, from the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 262 Railroad Avenue, West Scranton, beginning at 9:15 am with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Patrick’s Church, West Scranton. Interment will follow in the Cathedral Cemetery. Viewing for family and friends will be on Monday, 4 to 7 pm.
