Karen Lynn Kowalski, died Monday evening at the Hershey Medical Center. Her husband is Daniel P. Kowalski. Born in Scranton, Karen was the daughter of the late William J. and Alice E. Schultz. A 1984 graduate of West Scranton High School, she worked for the Scranton School District as a Para Kindergarten teacher at Isaac Tripp Elementary School. Karen was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Parish, Throop, PSEA and NEA. Along with her husband Dan, she is survived by three sons, Shea W. Kinney and wife Lindsay, Scranton, Michael Kinney and companion Karyna Butler, Old Forge, Jonathan Kowalski, at home, one daughter Kimberly Kowalski, at home, two grandchildren, Connor and Ava Kinney, one sister, Lori Schultz and one brother, Mark Schultz and wife Jacque, Scranton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, by Msgr. Michael Delaney at 9:30 am in the Blessed Sacrament Parish at St. Anthony Church, 215 Rebecca Street, Throop. Interment will follow in St. Anthony Cemetery, Throop. Viewing for family and friends will be on Friday, 4 to 8 pm in the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home, 262 Railroad Avenue, West Scranton. The family requests for those attending the Funeral Mass to please go directly to St. Anthony’s Church, 215 Rebecca Street, Throop, Pa.
